Google Hunt is testing out a new marker for papers that take under five twinkles to read, with “ Quick Read. ”

Some Google Search druggies are suitable to see a new marker next to papers that appear in response to their keywords that simply say “ Quick Read. ” This isn’t a new anthology mode or anything like that, but simply a suggestion that the composition shown is fairly brief.

The change was spotted by Brodie Clark, who also saw variations of the marker that show “< 5 Min Read. ”

It’s unclear how extensively Google is testing this point presently – we’re not seeing it on our end just yet – but it's in testing across multiple biases. Both the mobile and desktop Google Hunt gests are seeing this new marker in one of several different variations.

From a stoner’s perspective, this change is easily aimed at the adding desire for short-form content. It’s unclear how Google decides what's considered a “ Quick Read ” at this point, but it seems possible it could be determined simply by a general word count. The marker appears to be concentrated primarily on papers but includes support runners and other affiliated formats.
